Erzsike has been living for over 14 years in the apartment above the gate in Lujza street 8. Construction works began on the adjacent plot 3.5 years ago, but only the foundation was excavated. This impacted the foundation of the house, so the firewall of Lujza Street 8 slipped, cracks appeared in the walls, around windows, a part of the fence wall further down the yard collapsed, the doorway had to be stabilized with iron hardware.

Erzsike feels unsafe, as she is afraid her apartment could collapse any time, she is worried she might even be at home when the worst happens.
Her fears are confirmed by the urban legend telling that professionals who wanted to properly assess the condition of the building were fired; by many old and sometimes new cracks in her walls, but mostly by the spinal injury caused by the boiler falling on her.

According to Erzsike, “where you're afraid cannot be your home”, so she has applied to the municipality (owner of the house) several times to get a replacement apartment, which is safe to live in.
The municipality office has offered to lower the monthly rent fees by a few thousand forints (8-10 USD).
